Sustainable Development Goals and Guidelines

The course aims to provide an understanding of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, their subcategories and key performance indicators and methods to plan strategies, monitor priorities and report the progress towards the key performance indicators.
 
The course presents a set of examples of how different companies have been using the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The course explores how to analyse the companies’ use of sustainable development goals. Furthermore, the course explains the difference between sustainable development goals and the environmental, social and governance guidelines, allowing the students to design strategies for the companies to evaluate and monitor their use. Upon completing the course the student:
  • has the ability to design strategies for implementing sustainable development goals and environmental, social, and governance guidelines for companies, municipalities, and non-governmental organisations;
  • understands and can implement and monitor the achievements of sustainable development goals;
  • has skills and knowledge to advise companies on how to report the progress in sustainability;
  • understands the ethical aspects of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in a broader context of society.
